New Season... New Look!! :)

Posted by Roxy at 9:47 PM 5 comments
Guess who's a red-head! ME!!!!! Well it's not really red.. more like a "sour-cherry" red. Fall is here and that means a whole new season,.. so I decided to change my hair to a whole new look last weekend. I was a little hesitant at first but it was the right time since my awesome friend Miss Molly told me about the deal at Lunatic Fringe. Color was only $50 instead of $120. Was it a good deal... HECK YEAH IT WAS! I got excited and ask Curt if I could do it. And of course, the loving and supporting husband that he is, He said YES! I'm so excited about my hair and I've received a lot of compliments already. It's a big change for my hair but I love it so much!!! And as a matter of fact, this is my first time ever where my hair actually turned red.. we had to bleach my hair. I was mortified when I heard the word "bleach" come out of Molly's mouth but I just said "Let's go for it!!!" Anyway, here they are!! More pics coming soon since I did a photo shoot yesterday with my awesome sister-in-laws and cousin. Yay!! :)
Yes!! It's not dark chocolate anymore.. it's Auburn!

Here's the front view of it.. I just recently took a shower  so it looks dark.

Tons of layers.. you can't see it much on the pic tho.. :(

Me messing around with the camera while Curt is seriously in tuned with his game on the PS3. Haha!

Mr. Know It All... :)

Posted by Roxy at 11:06 PM 0 comments
Aaahhh!!! I'm so excited about Kelly Clarkson's new album that's coming out next month. Anyone else excited out there? Well I sure am!! I love Kelly Clarkson since the beginning. She's one of the artists besides The Veronicas, Demi Lovato, etc. that I listen to when I just wanna jam out in my car and rock it out like I'm a total rock star.. or if we go the other end.. when my heart is broken, angry at the world, or basically my music therapy when I'm in a bad mood on my iPod. Who wouldn't? Her songs and the lyrics are just genius and everyone can relate... Duh! Everyone has experienced heart breaks, hatred, betrayal, anger and everything else that is included in a crappy relationship. I can't really say that now since I'm married to a very wonderful guy.. but before when I was dating or when I would wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just starting the day all grumpy, all I do is listen to my "Rockstars/Bad Day" list and I'll feel all better. Also, when I'm not in a bad mood and just wanna rock out.. I'd put that on too. It's like when Curt listens to Muse, Bon Jovi, or My Chemical Romance and sings his lungs out. We'd be head bangin' in the car specially on the long road trips. Strange???? I don't think so! It's so totally normal and awesome. Anyone who denies doing that is a total lame-o!!! : )

Now everyone has been saying that Kelly Clarkson took a new route with her 5th album "STRONGER" since her last cd dropped the bomb which was really sad since it was still pretty good. But hopefully with this one, she'll rise again to the top and be noticed once again as one great artist. So I've posted a link below to the audio on YouTube and the lyrics so you guys can enjoy! Have fun!

Finally... It's here!

Posted by Roxy at 10:42 PM 0 comments
Hey you all!!! I'm so excited to post this message because something awesome just came in the mail. I have been waiting for them to come right after I've ordered them online. Wanna know what it is?? DOLL EYE CONTACTS!!! Yes! I have gone back to my Asian roots and have ordered some for myself. At first I was a little iffy about it and wondered if they were going to be comfortable. I regularly wear contacts but since I'm so "high maintenance" and my eyes can only take the "special" and "expensive" kind which stinks since it burns a hole in my pocket. Because of this, I was really concerned about the kind of material that was used for these "doll eyes." Luckily, thanks to reviewers on YouTube (I know they're not accurate coz people are different from one another), I found some that are pretty good and also I have done tons of research first before buying them. Anyway, I bought 2 kinds of contacts and they're both from Malaysia. The one that I will be showing you was the first one to arrive since I did International Express, I'm still waiting for the other one. When it comes, I'll definitely blog about it too. Anyway, here are the pictures. (I apologize for the pics... I was super super super tired when I took these. I so need some sleep haha!)

This is me trying to take a pic of one eye without and one eye with the contact...

This is what they look like with my dark brown eyes

From another angle..

This is what it looks like with a flash.. and of course my hubby had to "photo-bomb" this pic lol

The lens actually came in these lil cute bottles and I got a hippo case for free! Asians are so cute!

Hippo love!!!

Yes, they are pink!!!!
About contacts:
* Brand: Super Nudy Pink from G&G (yes they are pink... but my eyes make them grey.)
* Ordered from Malaysia
* Very comfortable
* 14.5 mm.. (normal contacts are 14mm)
* Very cute and so awesome! I love it!!! :)

It's time for -Ber months again..

Posted by Roxy at 4:32 PM 0 comments
Well it's been awhile ever since I have last posted a blog. Needless to say, life has been crazy hectic. I need to keep up with my blog posts coz I feel like it's being neglected haha! Well Curt has started school and he's taking an EMT course. He's such a hard-working person. He goes to work from 8-5, then goes straight to school on M-W from 6-10 pm. Poor guy is always hungry and exhausted when he gets home. As for me, I'm just working for now.. and in 3 weeks, I'll also be going to school at the Academy of Dental Careers. I'm so stoked about it. I never really saw myself actually pursuing to go to Dentistry.. but we'll see how far along I go with it. I love going to school and I love learning.. I just want to figure out what I want to do in life besides being a mom someday. Kids are not in our agenda at the moment.. we still have school and travel plans to pursue. It might sound a lil selfish of us, but we just want to have some fun time alone to ourselves before we share it with lil kiddies running around. Today at our new ward, it actually made me think about having kids. Our ward is pretty different from the other ones we've been to. This ward is actually full of BABIES!!! Everywhere you turn your head, there are babies/toddlers on the church benches doing their lil doodles, playing with each other, or crying/screaming their lungs out. It was insane. I couldn't concentrate on the speaker since I kept hearing the kiddos surrounding me. I felt bad for one mom just because her lil son kept screaming and crying and she had 3 toddlers to tend to with no hubby around to help her out. So she just sat there "shooshing" him to be quiet, but he kept screaming. Later on, I found out that she was the bishop's wife and he apologized for having the noisy ones. Haha! When we got home, I told Curt that we should hold off having kids for awhile coz I think I just had a traumatic experience. He just laughed at me. Anyway, anyone noticed that lately it's been a lil chillier at night then a week or 2 ago? Well, the "BER" months are finally here. September, October, November, Decemeber.. this means, it's time for Fall and Winter again. Oh the cold and the snow. I'm not sure if I'm excited or bummed about it. It's crazy to think that 2011 has gone by so fast.. before we know it, it's going to Halloween, Thanksgiving, then Christmas. Then Curt and I will be celebrating our 2nd year together on the 2nd of Jan. WHOA!!! Wonder where we should spend it this year... HHhmm.. Oh well, it's a long ways away still. I hope you all have a great week!! Be safe!!

Do you consider yourself a Masterchef???

Posted by Roxy at 8:33 PM 2 comments
So ever since our move... during our down time, or at least my down time, I go on either my laptop or the PS3 and watch a new favorite and obsession. It's called MASTERCHEF! Have you seen it? I love it! It's a cooking competition that was originally created in Australia and it's all about taking ordinary home cooks and making them compete for the title of becoming Masterchef. It has all sorts of tests and just watching it will seriously make you hungry. It has Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliott and Joe Bastianich. They're all awesome! It might sound weird but I love cooking shows from Food Network to Iron Chef to Rachael Ray's and to anything that has Chef Gordon Ramsay on it. Even though he has the foulest Scottish mouth I've ever watched or known, I still think he's awesome. He's mean and vicious but at the same time, honest.. which is good. He can definitely make you cry if he talked to you but if you want to be the best, you have the face all aspects of being the best and I think Gordon Ramsay is the person to whip you up into shape. He's like the 'Simon Cowell' of cooking. I love it. It sounds awful but I like this show more now than American Idol. Haha! It makes me want to learn how to cook so bad and become really good at it too. So we'll see how it goes. Maybe that time will come someday once I become a mom and have all the time to experiment in my very own kitchen with my kiddos. :)

What we've been up to lately?

Posted by Roxy at 7:20 PM 0 comments
It's been awhile since I posted on my blog. What have we been up to lately? Well guess what! We have moved again in the past 2 weeks. Curt and I are now living in Sugarhouse. It was a tough decision and it literally brought me to tears to leave our basement home in Holladay... but Curt always tells me that change is good. If you know me... I am not a fan of change. I hate it! But I'm just glad I have a very optimistic husband to give me a lil push. Haha! But seriously, who loves the idea of moving? Just packing things into boxes and then unpacking them when you get to the place while having a busy schedule is no bueno. But luckily, I had 2 days last week to unpack everything and even decorate the place. It was hard adjusting from the huge space we had at our last place to a tiny basement at our new place but with a lil bit of magic and motivation, I turned our living room upside down. Curt came home and was like "whoa.. you did all this?" It made him smile and of course I was proud of my work. (pics will come later). So anyway, that's why I haven't been on my blog lately.

Also, Curt and I are just preparing for school. Curt's doing an EMT course while I go to a Dental Academy to start my path onto my career! :) We're crossing our fingers that we'll make it through the semester since we won't be seeing each other a lot. We're both still working full-time and going to school at night. What a busy life!!!

Thank You.. Harry!

Posted by Roxy at 3:22 PM 0 comments
Yesterday was finally the day that Curt and I were able to watch the last Harry Potter movie. I have been waiting for this day since last year when we watched the 1st part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. But when the day came, we were in Moab. Then sadly, I had migraines all week so bright lights on a big screen wouldn't help me much and I was just dead tired everyday. So yesterday, Curt decided that we were going on a date and watch it. We went out and ate dinner at Tsunami, which was a really good Japanese place. I had the Lush roll while he had some Asian ribs. They were both really good. I was super hungry so after my roll I decided to swipe some from his plate. Haha! The ribs were really good and even though it was a lil spicy, the sweetness of the sauce made it yummier. We finished dinner half an hour early so we decided to just go to the movies and sit down while waiting. The theatre was empty at first but then right when it almost started, that's when people started flocking the theatre. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't that empty either. I even saw my co-worker Rachael.
When the movie I started, I kinda got teary-eyed just because I know that it was the end. I sat there while watching it, remembering the scenes from the book when I read it and I started crying my eyes out. From the attack of the school, to comrades dying, to Snape's final breath, the truth of his identity and his role throughout the entire story line, until the scene of Harry, Hermione, and Ron surviving through the whole thing. It was a good way this magnificent series. I wish and hope that they will compile the movies into one big thing like LOTR did just so that I know I will have the books and the movies to remember part of my childhood and share it to our children someday.

Whoa.. Chopsticks!!

 Yummy Gyozas!

Lush Roll.. (I started eating and then realized I wanted to take a pic!)

 Sweet and Spicy Asian-style Ribs

Tsunami!!!
The End of an Era! :'(

Oh.. Sunday

What busy week we've had. I almost think that Sunday is the only day that I could blog about my life instead of the usual daily or at least 4x a week thing. Anyway, we had an exciting/busy/crazy week = Migraines, wedding, and HP. Getting back from our trip from MOAB and adjusting to life again was pretty rough... specially for me. I've had migraines for the past few weeks which is no bueno at all. I had to miss work on Monday coz I was getting really sick. Due to that, I went ahead and got an acupuncture which was ok. I mean, I didn't see the usual gal that I went to but it was still had a weird experience. I went to a guy named Master Lu on State street. I was expecting to lay on a bed and get a relaxing treatment but instead he just made me sit on a chair and started poking needles on me and I had to sit there for 30 mins and expected me to feel better after. I didn't think it was worth $60 but oh well. Last Thursday was Matt and Sarah.'s wedding day. I give props to Sarah for waking up early on her own wedding day since the sealing was at 8:20am. Crazy! Our sealing was at 1 pm and I had to get up at 8:30ish to get ready and it was tough for me. It was a really nice and relaxing day though. Too bad we forgot to bring our camera so we don't have any pictures.

I don't really get the message in this song but man.... the dancing in this video is bomb!

Our week in a small post..

Posted by Roxy at 4:17 PM 0 comments
Curt and I have been busy all week! It doesn't feel like summer at all to us just because we've been running around like mad crazy people.. well at least I have haha! Anyway, I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. We kinda did since we spent most of the day cleaning out the apartment that we will be living in soon. (Yes, we are moving again, sadly!) But it's for a good cause. We saw some amazing fireworks and a good show at The Stadium of Fire down in Provo. It was probably one of the most amazing fireworks show I've seen. It was great!!! And we also got to sit close to the stagee.. David Archuleta was adorable and Brad Paisley is just a talented hottie! Even Curt was wowed by his amazing guitar skills. We were lucky to get two tickets from our good friends, Alec and Kelsey. Over the week, we were happy to also hang out with our dear friends, Molly and Matt again. It's been months since we've seen them. So yesterday, we all went out to dinner at WingCoop and introduced their fabulous wings. We had a fun time and chatted the night away. Of course, the girls weren't full yet so we decided to ditch the guys and head out to get some frozen yogurt from a new lil place in Holladay. YUM! After that, we drove down through Walker Lane in Holladay where we just admired the huge and beautiful houses and picked which one would be our future houses. (It's free to dream, right?!) LOL! Well, even though the week felt like it dragged, it still ended nicely. :)

Back to life...

Posted by Roxy at 9:26 PM 0 comments
Wow! It's been forever since my last posting. Life has been busier than ever. I've got two jobs right now: One at Lime Ricki Swimwear and the other is at Massage Envy. Needless to say, I enjoy working at both places. It kinda balances life for me I think haha! And yes, I am a workaholic. I hardly see my sweet hubby anymore coz I work too much! LOL! So, since it's the weekend and it's my only time to wind down a bit from my busy schedule, I decided to sit down, open my laptop and blog about what has happened in the past few weeks. Anyway, if you were wondering where I was.. I have been on an awesome cruise vacation with my hubby and his family. It was great!! It was a 4-day excursion from Long Beach, to Catalina Island, and to Ensenada, Mexico. We did a bunch of fun stuff. From eating tons of food, to parasailing, to surfing, and to cuddling with a cute lion cub!! I wished it never ended even though I got sea-sick during the last part of it. Besides, who doesn't want to live the life of just vacationing all the time? Haha! It was also nice to see my family again back home in California. The feeling of being home is just awesome even though I nearly die every time we visit coz they have cats and I am deadly allergic to them. But it was worth it because both the Haigh, O'Dell, and Buckmiller families got together for a great BBQ for a nice Father's Day celebration! Well, below are just some pictures to enjoy! : )

Parasailing at 1200ft!!!!!

Catching some waves.. Cowabangga!!

So precious!!!!

A Birthday, 2 Dates, & Modern Family!!

Posted by Roxy at 11:39 PM 1 comments
Finally, it's the weekend! I couldn't have been more happier since this week has been so busy and stressful for me. Work and packing for the big move at the end of the month is just crazy! I can't wait for our California and Mexico cruise vacation in the next week or so!!! SO EXCITED! Anyway, for this week, we had a birthday, 2 dates, and of course, the first season of Modern Family!! Thanks to my awesome co-worker, Teri, she made my day by letting me borrow the first season of Modern Family. That show is hilarious!! I'm almost done with the whole DVD. I feel pathetic but I can't stop watching it. LOL! On Wednesday, Carrie turned the BIG 22!! Woot woot!! We went to the Mayan restaurant and had an awesome dinner. She got some awesome pics with the Mayan Divers. Then on Thursday & Friday night, Curt and I went on dates just to calm down the stress and to end the week right. Haha!! On Thursday, we decided to go to the DI and look for cool cheap stuff. We ended up with cute wall decorations and 2 games: Express Yourself and Phase 10. After, we went to Graywhale and bought 6 DVDs and Tron in Blu-Ray. It was so cheap we felt like we hit the jackpot haha! Curt then decides that we should go get frozen yogurt at YogurtLand and then he took me to this park. It was cool coz it looked like a tiny town. Even thought it was a nice day, it was cold since we had frozen yogurt and it was getting dark. It was fun though. And on Friday, we went to SmashBurger for dinner and just stayed home to watch a movie. It was just nice to have a relaxing Friday night. I hope everyone had a good week and enjoy your weekend!! <3

Talk about so much cuteness!!!!

Posted by Roxy at 11:34 PM 0 comments
I know it's late but I just can't sleep just yet! I've been thinking about desserts and sweets and I remembered how fond and excited I was about these 2 cupcake books that my lovely friend, Stephanie has! Yesterday, Curt and I went to hang out with our awesome friends: Phil, Steph, Matt, James, and we were glad to have Mykin and her hub, John with us too. We hung out and played the game "Curses!" Ever heard of it??? It's an intense game and we were just laughing our heads off! Anyhoo, before we all started the game.. I noticed this cute book on the table and wanted to see what was inside. As I flip through the pages, I got more excited on how cute the creations were on how to make cupcakes so cute and so hard to eat because of the intense cuteness. Of course the boys enjoyed on how excited I got coz every time I flipped a page, my voice kept getting higher and higher due to the intensity of the cuteness of the cupcakes! Anyway, it was a lot of fun.. James had to grab the book from me for us to finally start the game. I asked Curt if I could buy them and create these lovely cupcakes someday and he said yes!!!! I'm going to buy them soon and hopefully start making some awesome cupcakes and sharing it with people. I just wonder when that will happen... probably when I'm a mom! Hahahaha!!!!

Tuesday Temple Date... and a new blog design out of boredom!!!

Posted by Roxy at 12:40 AM 0 comments
I hope everyone had a good memorial weekend. I, on the other hand, didn't enjoy it too much! The weekend was gloomy, rainy, and cold here in Utah! It stinks.. but oh well!!! Also, I had a terrible migraine! I think it's coz I haven't been able to sleep last week coz of stress and a lot of other stuff. Anyhoo... thanks to my sweet hubby, we were able to go to the temple today. We haven't gone in awhile.. so today was good.
We haven't gone to the Oquirrh temple yet and I've been wanting to go.. so we did!! It's kinda weird to think that the temple is brown and not white... haha! But it was still beautiful inside. I was trying so hard not to fall asleep in our temple session coz I was tired and exhausted. After that, we just stayed inside for awhile coz we've been stressed about some life-changing situations. I think we sat inside for a good half-hour after the session ended. Finally, after trying to figure out some things.. we got our answers and went out to dinner coz my tum-tum was making noises. We found this Chinese restaurant in South Jordan.. it's called Rice King Express. We decided to check it out just coz even though I was hungry, I was very picky for some reason. I've been in Chinese-mode lately for some reason. Also, we found something weird and awesome.. a GREEN WALMART!!! Has anyone seen a green walmart?? It was so random.. it was in the middle of nowhere and it was green instead of blue! Hahah! After dinner, of course, since we were in South Jordan, we just had to end the night by getting Sub-Zero!!! Yummy!!! It was a good way to end the day/night.. and for a few hours.. decided to design my blog coz I wasn't sleepy!!! Hope you guys like it.. I'm the type of person that gets bored easily with things.. so I might start changing mine again next month!!! :-)

 Oquirrh Temple.. :)
Rice King.. or Rice City??? I'm not sure...

Green Wal-Mart??? What????

I Feel Pretty/Unpretty.... and 3 fortunes from one cookie!!!

Posted by Roxy at 2:45 PM 1 comments
Ok... I can't get enough of this song! After hearing this for the first time.. I just totally fell inlove with it! I love how Rachel and Quinn came together on this song and their harmonies are just so pleasant and beautiful to the ears! The original version by TLC was already good but this is amazing. I can totally relate to the song and I'm sure a lot of girls too.. But always remember that you are unique and beautiful inside and out!!! :)

Enjoy the video!!!

Also yesterday, Curt and I went out on a double date with our good friends Kelsey and Alec. We haven't seen them in forever so we decided to hang out with them! The date was dinner and a movie: Charlie Chow's & Pirates 4!  Anyone of you heard of Charlie Chow's Dragon Grill??? If not, you should try it! It's this awesome place by downtown Salt Lake. You can either order regular entrees or you can try their Dragon grill (which is basically like a mongolian grill where you have a bowl and put whatever the heck you want in it and they'll cook it for ya!) It's pretty dang good! Anyway, we ate there coz Kels and Alec have never been there before so we decided to take them there and check it out. After a good hour or so.. everyone was stuffed! The best part is that their fortune cookies are dipped in chocolate which is nummy!!!! So we all took one cookie from the tiny plate and cracked it open to see what our fortune was for the night haha! To my surprise.. I had 3 fortunes in one cookie! It was so awesome and.... they were all good too! Kels thought that I was lucky lol! Well, here are the fortunes.. hopefully they will all come true! Hahaha!

Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting... Ya!!!

Posted by Roxy at 3:27 PM 0 comments

"Skadoosh! My fist hungers for justice!!!" Oh man, this week has been busy but yet Curt and I were able to hang out with our cool friends Steph and Phil and of course, since we're awesome.. We watched Kung Fu Panda 2 on it's opening night. I'm such a paranoid and was really worried that it was going to be crowded.. but fortunately, no one was really there at the theatre when we got there. It was awesome to feel that we didn't really have to worry about not getting good seats. Anyway, since we were 45 mins early, we went across the theatre and ate dinner before the movie started. It was kinda sad to see that Kung Fu Panda 2 didn't really have a big crowd on its opening night.. but it's probably coz of the theatre we went to since it was a lil ghetto haha! We were excited for the movie coz the first one was good and just coz we thought it'd be a good movie. I was a lil sketchy at first but it was actually pretty good. It had more kung-fu than the first one but it was still dang good. It was still pretty funny and the other characters had more lines which was a good thing haha. It was kinda weird to think that Jean-Claude Van Damme and Gary Oldman were the voices of the other characters. I still find a hard time believing that Angelina Jolie or even Lucy Liu was in it. They seem so serious for a cartoon but I love them both so it's awesome! Well, if you guys haven't watched it yet.. you should coz it was awesome!! :)

By the way, we watched the movie at the Century 16 theatre on 3300 S in Salt Lake City! If you guys are ever up around there and are craving for some ice cream... we went to a place called Nitro Freeze! They are kinda like an imitation/knock-off of SubZero but they are still pretty good! Just saying!!! :)

Yo ho.. Yo ho.. A pirates life for me!

Posted by Roxy at 6:22 PM 1 comments

OMG!!! Have you guys seen Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides yet? If not, you need to! It's really awesome. After a long week of work, depressive moods, and stressful thinking.. Curt and I finally took a break and hung out with our cool friend Matt and went to watch Pirates at 11 pm last night. We had to go later just coz I had work til 8:30 and so we had to eat dinner and go see it at the latest possible. Anyway, even though it was the 4th movie of this sequel, it was still awesome. I actually liked it more and thought it was cooler than the other previous ones. I like how the plot focuses more on the lives of pirates then being in love and stuff but I like the cute lil love story between the mermaid and the Catholic missionary. They were so cute! I think we're going to watch it again soon with our other cool friends who we haven't seen in awhile! So I'm excited! Good job Johnny, Geoffrey, Ian, and Penelope!! :)

P.S. Aren't they so adorable together??? Haha!

Goodbye Desperate Housewives and Glee for now... Welcome Back Psych!!!

Posted by Roxy at 11:48 AM 1 comments

Bittersweet goodbye... for now! Desperate Housewives has aired it's finale season on Sunday and Glee has only 2 more episodes left before it takes a break! Oh... to think that I'll be devastated to have to wait again but at least I have one show to look forward to. PSYCH!!!!! Oh yeah.. it's coming back in the fall and I am super excited for it. Who doesn't love this show?! If you don't, then you're mental!!! It's very awesome! Anyway, welcome back Spencer and Gus! Oh and of course, I can't forget about Detective Lasseter and Juliet. It's gonna be sweet! I'm excited and so should you! :)

I think for now.. this gap with give me time to catch up with Pretty Little Liars and Modern Family! Hahaha!!!! I'm such a nerd!!! Pathetic, maybe.. LOL!
